Wedding Rental Inspiration - Interview with Borrow My Vintage

We’re back with another interview with a wedding professional! This time, we’re interviewing Macy from Borrow My Vintage! Before we get into the interview, check out some of her amazing pieces that she rents to wedding clients. She has a ton of vintage and upcycled items that add the perfect “special touch” to your wedding venue or reception. We’re just obsessed with these!

I'm Macy and I am the owner of Borrow My Vintage, a vintage rental company. We are located in West Branch, but we travel all over the Midwest.  I started Borrow My Vintage in 2014 when I owned my photography business and had a few small props that my couples wanted to use. 7 years later, we now have a 4,000 sq ft warehouse full of inventory, a handful of employees, and we have helped over 100 couples per year with their rentals!

What’s your favorite thing about being a wedding professional?

My favorite thing about being a wedding professional is seeing the final product come to life at your event! We love seeing all the behind the scenes projects and tasks come together to create a beautiful day that is unique and fits the couple's style perfectly!

What is one unique item that you offer that couples may not immediately think they "need", but would end up loving?

My creative and design services! Couples usually come in just wanting a few rental items, but end up leaving the warehouse knowing that we can take care of everything for them. From curating beautiful pieces from our inventory to our delivery and pick up services, we can really help them bring their entire wedding vision to life.

What is your personal favorite wedding style right now?

I love anything that’s different and not necessarily on trend. There is definitely not enough emerald and blush going on and I would love to see a winter boho wedding! I love couples that go against the grain and try something super unique: whether it’s simply with their color scheme, a statement piece, or their entire theme!

Tell us about the most unique wedding you've helped with and why it was unique!

We've been a part of rooftop weddings which is always incredible! Also, we’ve been a part of circus-themed weddings! It’s so fun to be a part of something different and unexpected.

What’s your biggest tip for a bride and groom during the wedding planning process in general?

I recommend that couples choose a theme and style that fits both of their personalities and then stick to it! Sometimes, wedding stress can happen when you try to please too many different people and have a hard time nailing down decisions. When you make decisions based on you and your spouse’s likes and then you stick to them, it will be a much smoother process!

There you have it, brides! If you need help bringing your dream wedding vision to life, Borrow My Vintage is here for you!
