Romantic Barn Wedding!

We did an amaaaaazing romantic photoshoot on April 15th and my friends on Facebook and Instagram have been LOVING the photos. They have been some of my most popular ones yet! I figured we should create a blog post with more details!
So, the purpose of this photoshoot was to network with other wedding professionals, allow us to be freely creative (so much less pressure than a real wedding!), and build our portfolios. With a real wedding, we're usually creating the bride and groom's vision... which is fabulous and I love it, but with a photoshoot like this, we can try new things and then be able to offer something new to couples who are trying to determine their style. It was SO. MUCH. FUN.
We went with a soft, romantic, whimsical style and it was held at Livengood's Barn in Chadwick, IL. It was the PERFECT place for this type of photoshoot, and such a gorgeous place for a wedding! Livengood's has such gorgeous backdrops, and we mixed the slightly rustic style with a pastel color scheme: peach, lavender, mauve, blue, and cream. This was actually my first photoshoot with all of these vendors. Some of us have worked together in the past, but it was so much fun to get together for some creative collaboration.
For the bride's bouquet, I wanted a very subtle cascade. Since we were going for soft and whimsical, I did not want anything heavy, so we created the cascade with plumosa greenery. Using draped greenery gives us that natural vibe we were going for.
For the groom's boutonniere, I used mostly what we call "little bits". Little bits are just a few little pieces of flowers, as opposed to one large rose, which is a little more traditional. This simple boutonniere style is super popular right now!
For the gorgeous arch, I really wanted to try something different and show future brides what's possible. I also think that decorating the arch this way will allow Kali (owner of Livengood's) to show her brides what can be done and give them an actual visual.
For the tablescape, I wanted a romantic feel with flowing fabric, while still playing off of the fact that we were in a barn! So, we incorporated the galvanized tin container and little jelly mason jars. I wanted the arrangement to be busy enough to create interest and conversation, but also low enough so guests would be able to see over it at a real wedding! This is actually a common "problem" with table arrangements at times, so we always do our best to create something that's fairly low in height but has allllll the beauty of a large, gorgeous arrangement.
So, what do you think? Could you go for a soft, romantic, whimsical wedding like this?
