Holiday Gift Guide: Experiences

Holiday Gift Guide: Experiences

It's been about one year since we shared our original Holiday Gift Guide, focused on our favorite local businesses and a few of our favorite items in the shop! We thought we would take this year's Gift Guide a different direction to give you some new ideas!

Who couldn't use a little help with their holiday gift shopping... right?!

So, here are some ideas that we think your loved ones would enjoy this year! They're mostly focused around experiences. After a couple of not-so-normal years, we think everyone is ready to get out and have some fun!

For your spouse...

  • If you want a win-win situation, plan a unique date night together. Is there a local cooking class you can take together? An ax throwing class or shooting range?
  • What about a date night where you play "rock, paper, scissors" 4 different times: one for the appetizers, one for the dinner place, one for the cocktails or coffee, and one for the desserts? The winner of each game gets to pick the place!

For your best friend...

  • Have you been craving a fun night out with your bestie? If you want to do something different, grab a spot at one of our upcoming Wreath Workshops! If those are closed by the time you see this, consider these ideas...
  • A movie night with a nostalgic movie that you both love and his/her favorite snacks and drinks prepared for them
  • A best friend photoshoot. Bonus points if you make it themed or nostalgic to make it extra fun!

For your mom...

  • What's your mom's favorite thing to do in her free time? Plan a whole day around it - whether it's going to a winery, going shopping for home decor, going to a sporting event, or hitting up a new local restaurant... the fact that YOU planned and paid for the day will make her day!

For your dad...

  • Same for your dad! Would he love to do a brewery tour, go to a sporting event, go to his favorite restaurant, go to a shooting range, or listen to live music at a local bar/restaurant? He will love the quality 1:1 time with you doing something he loves!

For your kids...

  • Have they been begging for a day at the zoo? Or even something as simple as a whole day where they get to pick what they wear, where you go, what you eat, what movie you watch, etc.? Consider giving them a "yes" day... within reason, of course! :)

For your grandparents...

  • If you're lucky enough to still have grandparents in your life, chances are, they would love more time with you. What if you planned a whole day where you did their favorite things? Bought a new puzzle to put together? Brought baking ingredients over to make their favorite treats? Picked up their favorite pizza for a movie night? They will cherish their time with you more than anything!

For the teachers, coworkers, or other friends in your life that you want to do something special for...

  • There are so many people that deserve special recognition this year. If you could give the teachers, coworkers, or peers in your life with something they typically may not buy for themselves... such as a massage, a nail appointment, a hair blowout at the salon, a workshop or class at a local business, or even something as simple as dropping off a healthy dinner at their doorstep... They will probably appreciate and remember that gift for the rest of their lives!

We hope this helped inspire you to gift experiences to your loved ones this year. The best part is, many of them are a gift to YOU, too! It will feel so good to do something fun and different after nearly two years of being cooped up at home more than normal.

If you loved this blog post, we think you'll love last year's, too! Check it out HERE. And if you need some additional stocking stuffers, holiday arrangements, or other great gifts to supplement your experiences, come see us in the shop and we'll help put together the perfect gift for you!
