Benefits of Having a Micro Wedding

Written By Samantha ritchie 29 Dec 2020
Benefits of Having a Micro Wedding

Due to COVID-19, we have found that a lot more people are open to having a micro wedding! A micro wedding is an intimate affair - usually with less than 50 guests! There are tons of perks to hosting an intimate wedding and reception, so let's talk about a few of them!

It's more budget friendly, of course! We listed this one first because the truth is, this is probably one of the biggest perks! The most expensive part of a wedding is usually the food and drinks for every guest. If you have a small guest list, you can save a ton of money on the most expensive aspects of a large wedding.

It will give you more options! This goes right along with the fact that micro weddings can be more budget friendly. With more room in the budget, you have more options to allocate that money elsewhere: extra entertainment for your guests, more money for your honeymoon, more money to add to your savings account as a married couple, more FLOWERS ;), and more! The options are endless when you host a micro wedding AND have more room in your budget.

It's easier to navigate last minute changes or surprises. When you have less mouths to feed and less people to entertain, it's a whole lot easier to deal with any changes that may come up. And believe us: there's always something! Without the pressure of a large crowd, and having a more intimate guest list in general, you'll be able to roll with the surprises a whole lot easier.

The timeline is more manageable. When you're planning food, drinks, entertainment, decorations, photographs, and more for a small group of people, it will fall into place SO MUCH quicker than it does with a large group. No one wants to plan a large wedding under a super short timeline... so whether your engagement is short or long, the timeline will be a lot easier on you with a small guest list,

It provides a much more personal experience for everyone involved! This is one of the biggest perks of a micro wedding, in our opinion! Not only will you have a chance to actually talk to, dance with, and celebrate each person on your guest list, but your guests will enjoy the more personalized experience too. It will feel that much more comfortable and inviting when it's a small group of people that can bond together all night.

Your vendors will LOVE the unique, more personalized experience. It's not every day that vendors get to be a part of a micro wedding! Any photographer, florist, DJ, videographer, caterer, and venue host would love to help with a micro wedding. Chances are, the experience will be unique to them, less pressure, and more fun to be around an intimate group of people!

You'll be a lot more relaxed. Ahhhh, relaxing. That isn't typically one of the words that comes to mind when you think of planning a WEDDING, is it?! When planning a large wedding, it's no secret that it can be a little more stressful. With a small group, YOU and your future spouse will be more relaxed and your closest family and friends will likely be more relaxed too.

Micro weddings may not be for everyone BUT we do believe they're becoming more and more popular due to the current circumstances and more couples seeing the benefits of them! Another thing that's become more popular this year is having a week day wedding! We have a full blog post on that HERE. We collaborated on that blog post with Becky from Oak Hill Farm, one of our favorite vendors! Check it out!
