A Bohemian, Whimsical Wedding

A Bohemian, Whimsical Wedding

One of our latest weddings was all things bohemian, whimsical, and natural... and I COULDN'T WAIT to tell you all about it! Monika and Mark got married at Oak Hill in August and they were an absolute dream to work with.

Monika's bouquet was extremely textured with a mix of blue thistle, berries, succulents, kale, and more. All of those textures and colors mixed together gave the bouquet such an interesting look. She wanted to work in some really fun colors like blue, lavender, peach, and different types of greenery, and that gave me soooo much creative freedom. She actually requested lavender, kale, succulents, and dahlias, and we paired them with others to help bring her vision to life. Flowing pepper berry foliage and silver brunia really complemented the guys’ gray tuxes and the peach garden roses helped bring a pop of contrasting color to her bouquet. It was toe die for!

For the table decor, we focused on the natural garden aspect. And since Oak Hill is soooo beautiful, we didn't want to take away from that. We used greenery garlands and simple candles!

Monika and Mark rented our beloved geometric arch for the ceremony backdrop and we covered the top in similar flowers as her bouquet!

She really wanted some faint flowers in her hair (who could blame her?!), so we did just that. I am OBSESSED.

Oh, and she wanted her hair down for the ceremony, but in a braid for the reception... Who else LOVES that idea?!

Overall, it was such a gorgeous wedding, celebrating two wonderful people, and it was just a blast from start to finish!

If you love this bohemian, whimsical, natural vibe, my best piece of advice is to include lots and lots of texture. Lots of loose, flowing, less-structured pieces are best for this look. And don't be afraid to add a few pops of color!

Thanks to Brittany Bekas for the beautiful photos and Oak Hill for the gorgeous venue!
